A 4 km Big Asteroid Will Pass Near By Earth

AN ASTEROID big enough to be dubbed “potentially hazardous” but considered safe by NASA, has been photographed dashing through the solar system.
The NASA-tracked Asteroid 52768 (1998 OR2) is flying around the Sun on a path that will bring it on “Earth close approach” this week. But the asteroid does not pose any threat to Earth and instead, its flyby promises to be an excellent opportunity for astronomers to examine the space rock close-up in space terms.
The asteroid will be closest to our planet on Wednesday, April 29, coming within 3.9 million miles (6.29 million km) of Earth’s centre.

According to astrophysicist Gianluca Masi, head of the Virtual Telescope Project, the asteroid will probably be bright enough on the night of the flyby to be seen through even basic telescopes and binoculars.
