Children will Given Vaccine Against Typhoid from Today in Nepal

As many as 7.5 million children between the ages of 15 months and 15 years are being vaccinated against typhoid from today.

According to Sagar Dahal, head of the Department of Health Services, Child Health and Vaccines Branch, GABI (Global Vaccine Network) has provided free typhoid vaccine to Nepal. Under the vaccination campaign, 56 thousand 4298 vaccination centers and schools across the country will be vaccinated. For this, 10,000 health workers and 112,858 volunteers have been mobilized.

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba inaugurated the vaccination campaign at a function held at Durbar High School on Thursday. In some areas, the campaign started a few days ago, but the campaign has started from today.

This is the first time that this vaccine has been given in Nepal. The government has requested everyone to go to the nearest vaccination center and get vaccinated.

According to the Department of Health, more than 450,000 people have been infected with typhoid in Nepal in the last five years. The campaign will run till April 30.
