33 House Undergoes in Landslide in Khotang

33 houses have been buried in the district due to floods and landslides that came with incessant rain. 38 houses were partially damaged. Two people were injured.

Shiv Kumar Karki, Coordinator and Chief District Officer of the District Disaster Management Committee informed that although there was no human loss, there was damage worth crores.

Floods and landslides have caused great damage in the district. The complete details of the damage have not yet been received, he said, two people have been injured due to floods and landslides in Khotang, which has ten local levels, while 18 livestock have died. We have mobilized teams from all three security agencies to rescue the displaced.’

A meeting of the District Disaster Management Committee was held on Sunday evening to provide immediate relief and rehabilitation to the flood and landslide victims.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Purushottam Khadka informed that 135 local residents who were displaced due to floods and landslides have been shifted to nearby schools and relatives. It has been reported that floods and landslides have damaged five suspension bridges as well as one pavement.
