Janakpur Bolts lifted the first edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) on Saturday, led by opening duo Lahiru Milantha and Asif Sheikh.
Janakpur lifted the title by defeating Sudurpaschim Royals by five wickets in the final at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Chasing a target of 185 runs set by Sudurpaschim, Janakpur achieved it in 19.2 overs for the loss of five wickets. With this, Janakpur also avenged the defeat it had suffered in the previous two meetings. Champion Janakpur received Rs 11 million and runner-up Sudurpaschim received Rs 5.1 million. Sudurpaschim had lost easily in the league and in the first qualifier.
