An interaction on the topic ‘The country’s economy and the way forward’ organized by the Entrepreneurial Congress has been completed.
During the interaction, senior Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala also sought suggestions from economists about the current government’s delivery and the role that Congress should play.
The program included an in-depth analysis of the country’s current political situation, budget sources, issues covered in the budget, and challenges in budget implementation.
How can employment be created in Nepal? What should be the role of youth in strengthening the country’s economy? What steps need to be taken for policy reforms? How can the budget overcome the frustration of the general public? What should be done to create an environment for youth to return home? How can economic transparency be made effective by controlling corruption? Koirala sought suggestions from experts on such topics.
Most speakers suggested that the program focus on issues such as corruption control, transparency, vocational education, investment-friendly environment, and startups.
In the program, Nepali Congress central member and former vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Govinda Raj Pokharel, former chief secretary of the government of Nepal Dr. Bimal Koirala, former vice-chairmen of the National Planning Commission Dr. Prithviraj Legal, Jagadish Chandra Pokharel, economists Prof. Dr. Bishwambhar Pyakurel, Prof. Dr. Binay Kusiat, Prof. Dr. Om Sharma, Prof. Dr. Sanjay Acharya, economic politician Puranjan Acharya, Dr. Rewat Bahadur Karki, Dr. Pratap Chhatkuli, Dr. Gyanmani Adhikari, Associate Professor Nabin Khanal and others gave important suggestions on the questions raised by Koirala regarding the budget.
Entrepreneurial Congress President Asmin Sitaula said that a significant number of conscious youth, experts in various fields, policy analysts, former officials of the Planning Commission, journalists, high-ranking administrative figures, professors, and constitutional scholars were present at the program.
Sitaula said that the interaction between the expert and senior leader Koirala was inspiring and also a guide for the Congress. Sitaula said that the program was organized with the aim of exchanging views on the current economic crisis, economic policy, unemployment, entrepreneurship and the economic future of the country.
