Pokhara University Conducts First Ever Program in AI

Pokhara University has launched a Bachelor of Arts in Artificial Intelligence and Statistics (BAIDS) program for the first time from its campus.

It was informed at a press conference held today that the Shramik Shanti Campus in Chyasal, Lalitpur, which is a constituent campus of the university in the Kathmandu Valley, has opened admissions for the subject from this academic session. Associate Professor Buddhiraj Joshi, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the university, informed that the decision has been made to provide teaching in the subject of AI, addressing the needs of the market and the demands of the time.

The college has also started a Bachelor of Computer Science and Information Technology (BCSIT) and a Bachelor of Laws in Humanities (BAILB). The fees for these programs have been fixed at Rs. 430,000 to Rs. 492,000 per course and 20 percent of the students will be educated on scholarships, said Dr. Surendra Tiwari, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the university.
