The government has asked the local level to close schools for three days from Sunday.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology requested to close schools for three days, mentioning that the emergency meeting on disaster held under the chairmanship of Acting Prime Minister Prakashman Singh on Saturday requested the government, non-governmental sector, civil society and others to be active for disaster management.
Lakshmi Prasad Bhattarai, Spokesperson and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education, in a statement issued on Saturday, stated that the decision to close schools was made due to damage to university and school buildings across the country, students and parents affected by floods and landslides, traffic disruptions and difficulties in daily life.
