Kathmandu: Minister of Health and Population Pradeep Paudel called a special meeting in the ministry and urged to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases after disasters like floods and landslides.
He asked all the three levels, Ministry of Water Supply and officials related to water supply to take precautionary measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
Health Minister Paudel has requested that the water sources have been polluted after the flood and due to this, to prevent infectious diseases such as diarrhoea, cholera and dengue, from their respective sides to increase their preparations and inform them about the necessary assistance.
He said, ‘The role played by the health workers in treating the sick during the disaster is admirable, now let’s protect the citizens from the diseases that may spread after this. Tell us if you need anything, we are ready to help. ‘
In the meeting, the secretary of the ministry. Roshan Pokharel promised to send more health materials to the necessary places by calling an immediate meeting as per the instructions and to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of the virus.
Minister Paudel said that the population in the federal capital valley is also high and now there is a high risk of infection, so prevention measures will be taken along with awareness to prevent infection by giving more priority. He also said that he will join hands with the provinces and cities for this.
In the meeting, Water Minister Pradeep Yadav thanked Health and Population Minister Poudel for the proposal of cooperation and announced that he will cooperate with the Ministry of Health for the distribution of purification materials and awareness in order to increase the purity of water and give clean water to the citizens.
