Every year on the fifth day of the Magh Shukla Panchami, the festival of ‘Sri Panchami’ is being celebrated today with sincere worship of Goddess Saraswati across the country.
Devotees call Saraswati, the goddess of learning who is as fair as the moon and holds a veena and a book in her hand, by names such as Bharti, Sharada, Hansvahini, Jaganmata, Vagishwari, Kaumari, Vardayini, Buddhidatri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta and Bhubaneshwari.
