The exercise of civilian government has begun after the elected government was displaced due to the Gen Z movement.
Nepal Army Chief of Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel has been holding intensive discussions with all stakeholders since President Ram Chandra Poudel called for talks.
The discussions initiated by Army Chief Sigdel on Tuesday night are continuing. Meanwhile, the main force of the movement, the Gen Z groups, have strongly proposed the formation of a civilian government under the leadership of former Chief Justice Sushila Karki.
Although the Genj Z’s are scattered across different groups, they seem to be unanimous in their support for Karki. They have collectively submitted a request letter to Karki along with their agenda.
According to sources who participated in various rounds of discussions and negotiations, Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah, a person trusted by Gen Z, has also expressed support in the name of Sushila Karki.
