Kathmandu.  Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has expressed deep sorrow over the heavy loss of life and property during the recent nationwide protests.

In a statement, the Chamber extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, paid tribute to the deceased, and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Highlighting the severe impact of the protests on industrial and business sectors, the Chamber drew serious attention of all concerned stakeholders to adopt dialogue, cooperation, and restraint in the current challenging situation.

The Chamber emphasized that the demands raised by the Gen-Z movement—such as fighting corruption, ensuring good governance, promoting transparency within state mechanisms, creating employment opportunities, and guaranteeing citizens’ easy access to public services—are legitimate and urgent. It warned that ignoring these issues could further spread frustration and instability across the country.

According to the Chamber, the extensive loss of life and property during the protests has shaken Nepal’s industrial and business environment, and created a negative impact on the overall investment climate. Such conditions, it cautioned, could undermine both domestic and foreign investor confidence if solutions are not found promptly.

To prevent similar incidents in the future, the Chamber called on the government, stakeholders, and the country’s Gen-Z youth to pursue open dialogue and constructive cooperation to achieve long-term solutions. It stressed that political stability, social harmony, and economic development require the active participation of all sectors of society.
