Government Has Decided to Connect the Lines of Industries Cut By NEA

The government has decided to make public the report prepared by the Lal Commission, which was formed to give suggestions on electricity arrears.

A minister informed that the cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to make public the report, which had been kept secret for some time.

The government formed a commission under the chairmanship of former judge Girish Chandra Lal regarding the dedicated feeder and trunkline electricity tariff dispute. The report has been prepared but has not been made public yet. The minister said that the report will be published through the website of the Ministry of Energy.

Similarly, the government has also decided to connect the lines of industries cut by the Nepal Electricity Authority.

According to the minister, the meeting decided to connect more than 30 industry lines that were cut by the authority earlier in the dedicated electricity tariff line dispute on Monday.

He also said that it has been decided to recover the arrears according to the TOD meter within 15 days. According to the decision of the Council of Ministers on Monday, the authority has to connect the line even if the industries do not pay the dues.
