Government Removes Labor Desk from Tribhuwan International Airport

The government has removed the ‘labor desk’ from Tribhuvan International Airport. Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha has decided to remove the labor desk at the airport after a complaint was lodged against the workers going for foreign employment in the name of stamping.

Ministry officials, including Minister Shrestha, arrived at the international airport on Wednesday and removed the labor desk. According to Minister Shrestha, there is no need for a labor desk at the airport with the advent of online information system (FEMIS). Now the staff of the immigration department will check the labor approval.
