There was a heated argument between parties during Sunday’s meeting of the House of Representatives.

Amidst the controversy, an MP demanded action against those who claimed to be royalists and were anti-republican. Immediately, RPP MPs, including Chairman Rajendra Lingden, beat their chests and warned that they would take action to show that they were royalists.

There was a heated argument between the ruling and opposition lawmakers for about 15 minutes. After further arguments broke out between the lawmakers, Speaker Devraj Ghimire adjourned the meeting for 15 minutes.

The lawmakers have been exchanging accusations after the opposition party disrupted the House on Sunday, demanding a reason for the dismissal of the then Executive Director of the Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising.

The house was disrupted after the main opposition parties, including the CPN (Maoist Center) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), rose at the beginning of the meeting and demanded a response from the government.
