Nepal Wins ICC T20 World Cup Asia & East Asia Pacific Qualifiers Title

Nepal has won the ICC T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers titles by remaining undefeated.

Nepal became the champions after winning all the matches of the Super Six from the group stage, defeating Samoa by 124 runs in the final match on Friday.

Chasing a huge target of 212 runs set by Nepal, Samoa managed to score only 87 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Sean Solia top-scored with 40 runs.

For Nepal, Lalit Rajbanshi took 3 wickets, while Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane and Rohit Poudel took 1 wicket each.

This is the first time Nepal has won an ICC tournament title in 11 years. Earlier, in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, Nepal lost to Oman in a super over in the final.

Nepal last won the ICC Division 4 title in 2014. Before that, it won the Division 4 title in 2010. Since 2014, Nepal has not been able to win any tournament, including the qualifiers, organized by the ICC.
