The Nepali Army has responded by saying that it tried its best to protect government structures, including Singha Durbar and the Supreme Court, during the Gen-G protests that took place on Bhadra 23 and 24.
Anupajang Thapa, Chief of the War Operations Department of the Nepal Army, has responded that efforts were made to extinguish the fire using 12 of the 18 fire engines in the valley, even before it was put out on the streets from 10 pm on Bhadra 10.
The military, which has been accused of failing to protect the country’s main administrative center, the President’s Office, the Supreme Court, and the Parliament Building, has said that it is considering the human toll as it is greater than the physical damage.
