The Rastriya Swatantra Party has expressed its objection to the incident in which its president, Rabi Lamichhane, was taken from Chitwan to Pokhara overnight.

The RSP has issued a statement today expressing its objection to the police taking Lamichhane from Chitwan to Pokhara at midnight last Wednesday, after he was taken to Chitwan for a statement.

It has also drawn the serious attention of international human rights activists and human rights organizations to the issue.

In a statement today, acting spokesperson of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manish Jha said that the government’s move was an extreme misuse of the state machinery and an inhuman, humiliating and extrajudicial tactic to torture the leaders of the rival party.

The statement also states that the police have also disappeared the diary that Lamichhane was writing while in custody.

The statement said that such actions by the government violate the natural human rights of citizens and demanded that the state justify the brutal step.
