16 Crores of Lamb & Goats Traded in Mustang in this Dashian

In this year’s Dasai, there has been a trade of lamb and hill goats worth Rs 16 crores in Mustang. According to Mustang Veterinary Hospital and Animal Services Expert Center, 8,000 sheep sold by Mustang for Dasain were reared by farmers in 4,800 districts of Changgaon and 3,200 were brought from Dolpa, Mugu.

According to the head of the center, Lalmani Aryal, 500 sheep (Chaluk) and 7500 goats were sold. “Farmers of Mustang have sold chickens at the rate of Rs. 28,000 to 38,000 per head according to age and weight”, he said, “According to the general price, chickens worth Rs. 16 have been sold.”

Last year, seven thousand lambs were sold. Mustang lambs have been sold in districts and cities such as Myagdi, Baglung, Parbat, Kaski, Kathmandu and others. Traders have said that the business of lamb shanks has been good this year due to the increase in production and the decrease in prices compared to the previous year.
