1600 EV Imported in 2 Months of Time

Imports of electric vehicles (EVs) increased in Bhadra due to NADA Auto Show and festivals.

According to the data of the Customs Department, 1,602 units of EVs (cars, jeeps and vans) were imported in the first two months of the current financial year 2081/82. During the same period last year, only 898 units of EVs were imported.

n the current year, 381 units of EVs have been imported in July and 1,221 units in August. Last year, 110 units of vehicles were imported in July and 788 units were imported in August, which is a significant increase in the current year.
The government has increased the tax on EVs by 10 percent including customs and excise duty through the economic bill. While the government increased the customs and excise duty of entry level vehicles by 5 percent, it increased the customs duty of high capacity motor vehicles and reduced the excise duty.
