A meeting was held between Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel, who is on a visit to Indonesia, and Abdullah Khalil, Minister of Health of Maldives.
Minister Paudel’s Secretariat informed that during the meeting, they discussed the exchange of cooperation between Nepal and Maldives in the field of health.
In the meeting, Minister Paudel recalled that Nepalese doctors are contributing to the health sector of Maldives and said that the experience of quality healthcare services in Maldives is useful for Nepal.
Maldives Minister Khalil praised the contribution of Nepali citizens in the health sector of Maldives and proposed to conduct post graduate educational programs in Nepal for the medical undergraduates there.
In response, Minister Paudel promised to proceed with the further process after necessary preparations.
Health Minister Poudel has arrived there while participating in the 12th high-level meeting and the 5th ministerial-level meeting of ministers of health and environment in the Asia-Pacific region held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. He left for the program on Tuesday night.
Minister Paudel has a program to address the challenges and prospects of Nepal’s health sector. Minister Paudel is scheduled to address the meeting of ministers of the Asia Pacific region on Thursday.
