Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital has started service operation with radiotherapy, modular OT and state-of-the-art city scan machine with 256 slice capacity. Nepal Government Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel inaugurated the machines during a ceremony on Wednesday.
In the program, Minister Poudel said that the health institutions should be ready to provide health care services to the citizens, keeping the service of the people as the first priority. Stating that specialized service facilities cannot be obtained in a simplified manner, he said that health insurance is a means of obtaining specialized services in a simplified manner.
He mentioned that sugar tax can be arranged on manufactured goods with more than required amount of sugar and the amount received from it can be deposited in insurance.
Stating that 1.6 million households are affiliated to the health insurance of the Nepal government, he said that if the premium collected for the insurance can be deposited in the insurance fund, health services can be provided in an orderly and accessible manner through insurance.
He said that it is necessary to ensure the source of insurance, because millions of people have reached the poverty line due to health care, it is necessary to create awareness and measures to prevent diseases among the citizens about non-communicable diseases.
