Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel said that even if the insurance coverage is increased to Rs 500,000, there is a need to find alternatives for the treatment of major diseases.

At a program organized at the Ministry of Health on Thursday, he said that medicines for major diseases, including stroke, are expensive and that alternatives to insurance should be sought for treatment.

He said that if major diseases are not treated on time, the patient may suffer limb amputation or even death. He said that the families of the deceased who died due to lack of timely treatment come to the ministry with many problems.

He said that it is difficult to solve health-related problems because the state has not provided appropriate methods and resources for health services.

He says that he is working to systematize insurance as it is the only option to provide health facilities to the Nepali people.
