Chairman of CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has objected to the fact that the leaders of Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) who were found guilty in the co-operative fraud case were not brought to the investigation.
Addressing the vigilance meeting held on Saturday at the Exhibition Marg in Kathmandu, Dahal said that the arrest of only Ravi Lamichhane, who is in the opposition, without bringing the leaders of Congress and UML, who were found guilty by the parliamentary committee, was the product of political discrimination and prejudice.
Claiming that when he was the prime minister, he instructed the state apparatus to arrest Prachanda even if he was found in the list of wrongdoers, Dahal said, “Our clear point is that no one guilty should escape, no one should be innocent.”
Stating that some people misinterpreted the Maoists’ vigilance meeting as a meeting to save Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASP) Chairman Ravi Lamichhane, Dahal said that the culprits should be punished.
