The world is infected with the corona virus. Nepal could not remain untouched by that. The new variant of Corona has been making a big impact in Nepal for the last time. With daily infections increasing and the mortality rate becoming alarming, hospitals across the country were overflowing and with the pressure of hospital Covid patients increasing, the lack of oxygen increased and many patients died due to lack of oxygen. The Government of Nepal also appealed to the world for oxygen assistance. However, the situation did not return to normal.
For the migrants who are closely watching the lack of oxygen in the country, this has to be a matter of pain. Moreover, living in the UAE for a long time has become unbearable for men who have been active in art and social service. Prakash Neupane, Babin BC, Anurag Pariyar and other supportive friends living in the two countries called for help in Nepal through video.
After the video went public on May 15, a campaign to meet the need for oxygen cylinders for patients struggling with death due to lack of oxygen began to raise money from reluctant Nepalis working in the UAE. The amount of Rs. 8 lakh 34 thousand, 140 collected was immediately sent to the famous Actor Pal Shah, who has been continuously involved in social service in Nepal amid the ban. After Actor Shah returns from Kalikot, cylinders will be purchased and distributed as per the need of the patients.
“When I see the picture of Actor Shah distributing oxygen cylinders in Nepal, I will feel that oxygen is being used in my own body,” said Ashish, who is also a lyricist.
Of the collected amount, Rs 50,000 will be handed over to Rakesh Yogi, who has been struggling with life and death with the help of oxygen for the past four years, while the remaining amount will be spent for the purchase of oxygen cylinders for Covid infected people.
After watching the video uploaded with the expectation of support, first of all Keshav Shirish Gorkhe , I support him with the strong encouragement of Dai, then with the help of many other friends including Lila Shrestha, Lal Sunar , Mohan Baraili, Isha Giri and many more. The collected amount has been sent to famous Actor Pal Shah, he informed.
In this campaign, not only from UAE but also from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Australia and other countries, all Nepali minds supported him.
“I did not expect such a large amount of money to be raised from this campaign, which was started through a simple video uploaded on Tik Tak, but this time too, there is a strong example that Nepalis in exile are always responsible to the country. I would like to thank all those who refused to support me in this campaign, and I would like to thank all those who have cut their throats in this difficult situation and provided life saving money to Nepalis, ”he said.
