Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has said that benefits should not be given to former Special/VIP people.
At a meeting organized by the Nepali Congress in Banke today, he said that there is no provision for providing facilities to former special forces. He said that it is right for the state to respect them but not to provide them with facilities.
He stressed that the college administration should look into the problems of Nepalgunj Medical College itself. ‘Medical colleges should operate according to policies and rules and all the policies and rules set by the state should be followed,’ he said.
Minister Poudel warned that if the salaries paid to skilled human resources in any government, private and community hospital are not as per the Labor Act, the affiliation of those hospitals will be revoked. He informed that work is underway to adjust the prices of medicines and said that work will be done to encourage national production.
Stating that the government has invested heavily in the construction of basic hospitals at the local level, he informed that all of them will be operated at full capacity. He said that the government has a plan to make health insurance effective for patients and that 6.6 million households will be covered by the insurance scheme.
