
Amargadhi Municipality has become the best municipality in the country by scoring 81.7 points in the performance evaluation conducted by the commission based on 17 different indicators out of 100.
The best municipality after Amargadhi is Suryodaya Municipality of Ilam. Suryodaya has scored 80.2 points in the commission’s performance evaluation. While Amargadhi is the best municipality overall and Suryodaya is second, they are also the best among 276 municipalities.
Among the 460 rural municipalities, Kaligandaki Rural Municipality of Syangja and Netravati Dabjong Rural Municipality of Dhading have been the best. Both rural municipalities have scored 78.2 points. In the overall performance evaluation of all 753 local levels, Kaligandaki and Netravati have also emerged as the third best municipalities.
Similarly, Aandikhola Rural Municipality of Syangja and Banepa Municipality of Kavrepalanchok have managed to rank fourth in the performance evaluation of the commission, scoring 78 points each, while Phedikhola Rural Municipality of Syangja has managed to rank fifth in the performance evaluation of the commission, scoring 77.9 points. Aandikhola has become the second best rural municipality out of 460 rural municipalities in the performance evaluation of the commission.
Bharatpur is the best among the metropolitan cities.
Among the six metropolitan cities across the country, Bharatpur Metropolitan City in Chitwan has emerged as the best performing metropolitan city in the commission’s performance evaluation.
Bharatpur, which managed to rank among the top 9 municipalities overall, has become the best among the 6 metropolitan cities by scoring 76.2 points. Similarly, Biratnagar Metropolitan City of Morang is second with 73.5 points, Lalitpur Metropolitan City of Lalitpur is third with 66.7 points, Kathmandu Metropolitan City is fourth with 54.3 points, Pokhara Metropolitan City is fifth with 51.5 points and Birgunj Metropolitan City of Parsa is sixth with the lowest score of 43.1 points.
Ghorahi is the best among 11 sub-metropolitan cities
Ghorahi Sub-metropolitan City has emerged as the best among the 11 sub-metropolitan cities across the country in the performance evaluation of the Finance Commission. Ghorahi has managed to emerge as the best among the 11 sub-metropolitan cities, scoring 66.9 points.
Similarly, Dhangadhi Sub-metropolitan City is second with 63.3 points, Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City is third with 62.5 points, Butbal Sub-metropolitan City is fourth with 60.7 points, Kalaiya Sub-metropolitan City is fifth with 58.1 points. Janapurdham Sub-metropolitan City is at the bottom with 35.8 points.
