After China stopped the export from Rasuwagadhi border since last week, goods worth billions of traders imported for Dasain and Tihar have stopped at Kerung. China has banned exports from Rasuwagadhi border since last Sunday due to the increase in corona infection in Tibet region. With the ban on exports, goods worth billions of traders have been stored in Kerung. The goods stopped in Kerung are worth about 2.5 billion rupees.
Due to Corona, China has imposed a lockdown in Tibet including Kerung until August 21. Businessmen say that due to the lockdown in Tibet, goods that have already arrived in Kerung cannot be diverted and brought. It takes two months to divert goods from Kerung to Kathmandu in a week.
