The Chitwan District Court has ordered the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane on a bail of Rs 5.4 million in the Sahara Cooperative Society embezzlement case.
On Thursday, the bench of District Court Chitwan Judge Dayaram Dhakal ordered Ravi to be released on bail of the said amount. Ravi, who was sent to custody after the detention hearing was not completed on Wednesday, will be released on Thursday if he posts bail.
A case was filed on Tuesday against 32 people, including Lamichhane, on charges of defrauding Sahara Cooperative of Rs 389 million.
Lamichhane appeared in court on Wednesday after a fraud case was registered in the cooperative’s savings embezzlement case. The government attorney’s office filed a case against Ravi and his partners in the district court on Tuesday.
