Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the ruling Nepali Congress is providing him with full support.
Inaugurating the administrative building of Suryabinayak Municipality on Monday, Prime Minister Oli said that he has received full support from the Nepali Congress.
“As per the previous agreement, I have received full support from the Nepali Congress. Tomorrow, I will make it clear that I will continue to support the Nepali Congress-led government,” Prime Minister Oli said.
In a seven-point agreement reached on Ashad 17, it was agreed that UML Chairman Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba would take turns as Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Oli also said that the winter session of Parliament, which begins on Magh 18, will be used as a law-making session. He also said that the constitution will be amended soon.
“If there is an agreement, the constitution will be amended soon, and if there is no agreement, it will take some time,” he said. Some time ago, some leaders of the Congress and other parties raised questions after Chairman Oli, who is also the Prime Minister, made a statement at the UML Central Committee meeting that the constitution amendment would be made in 2087 BS. Prime Minister Oli has said that the current government, which is in collaboration with two major parties, will free the country from the tendency to focus only on power struggles and leave after preparing a strong foundation for development and stability.
He also said that the government will lead development. ‘There is no alternative to beating one’s chest and lamenting that the government has collapsed, completely collapsed,’ he said. ‘The Congress-UML has now resolved to provide stability to the country. We can be confident of this.’
