Two cyber crime cases have been filed in District Court Kathmandu on charges of cyber crime against Durga Prasai.
District Public Prosecutor’s Office Kathmandu has filed a case demanding punishment according to Section 47 of the Electronic Transactions Act. Since the case has been registered today, tomorrow (Tuesday) the court will take statements and send them to prison for preliminary investigation or make other orders, informed Sandesh Shrestha, the head of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office.
According to Sandesh Shrestha, the head of the District Public Prosecutor’s Office, a case has been filed for character assassination of a woman on social media. Another case related to character assassination through social media has also been registered.
Prasai, who was arrested from Bhaktapur on October 6, is in hospital saying he is sick after being detained. In the indictment, they have demanded a maximum imprisonment of 5 years and a fine of one lakh rupees.
