Durga Prasai Given Role As ‘commander’ to Restore Monarchy

After entering and leaving Nirmal’s residence, the ‘United People’s Movement Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy’ has designated medical practitioner Durga Prasai as its ‘commander’.

The committee formed to restore former King Gyanendra Shah to the throne has appointed Prasai as the commander for the protest to be held on Friday.

At a press conference organized at the Smart Party Palace in Chabahil on Thursday, Nawaraj Subedi, coordinator of the United People’s Movement Committee, informed that Prasai has been designated as a ‘commander’.

The royalists, led by businessman Prasain, are protesting in Kathmandu on Friday. The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has designated Tinkune as the location for their protest.

Prasai entered Nirmal Niwas on Thursday afternoon and held talks with former King Shah. On February 25, Prasai tried to enter Nirmal Niwas. But at that time, he was not allowed to enter Nirmal Niwas. Along with Prasai, the coordinator of the agitation committee, Subedi, also met former King Shah on Thursday.
