Security for Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has been tightened after the dismissal of Nepal Electricity Authority Managing Director Kulman Ghising on Monday.
The government has deployed additional security personnel for Khadka’s security. Security for Khadka has been increased to prevent potential risks following the increase in street protests at the citizen level against the government’s decision to remove Ghising.
Additional security personnel, including a convoy vehicle, have been deployed for Minister Khadka. Recently, scheduled events in which Khadka was to participate have also been postponed due to security concerns.
On Thursday alone, Minister Khadka was under tight security at the Parliament building in New Baneshwor. During that time, a journalist asked him, “Have you seen the public’s anger against the decision to remove Kulman?” He replied, “I don’t think so, we have hired a better person than him (Kulman).”
