On Friday, the sky of Kathmandu Valley was suddenly covered with a blanket. If the sun is not shining, the wind is not blowing. There is a problem of eye pain when you go out of the house in the weather that looks like you. According to water and meteorologist Mindra Dahal, the air in Kathmandu has been polluted due to the prolonged drought and dry air and smoke and dust brought by the wind. “The wind from Attaria has reached Kathmandu. The atmosphere in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Haryana in India is covered with dust,” he said. Deputy Director General and Spokesperson of the Department of Environment Indu Vikram Joshi also said that the air quality has deteriorated due to fire and other pollution. “It is estimated that it was caused by a fire,” he said. “Even the wind is not blowing now. The air quality in the Bhansepati area of Kathmandu is 470 AQI (Air Quality Index). Similarly, Bhaktapur has 305 and Kirtipur has 221. Deputy Director General of the Department, Joshi, says that the best option is not to go out and smoke in such a time. “Only the weather can save it. If we all face it together, we can avoid it,” he said. The Meteorological Department has also estimated that the weather has deteriorated due to fire in the surrounding area. “The dust particles have been in the atmosphere for a few days now. We have estimated that the visibility has decreased due to the fire,” said meteorologist Raju Pradhanang. “We have not been able to confirm this.”
