From today, a fee will be charged to climb Dharahara located in Sundhara, Kathmandu.
Earlier, the free Dharahara was opened as a trial on Constitution Day (from 3rd of Asoj). The Council of Ministers meeting held last Thursday decided to operate the Dharahara free of charge.
As a test, the natives will be charged 200 rupees per person to climb the Dharahara, which has been opened for free from today.
Students, senior citizens, children and persons with disabilities will get 50 percent discount on the climbing fee.
Tourists coming from SAARC countries will be charged Rs 500 per person and tourists from non-SAARC countries will be charged Rs 1000 per person.
