Foreign Minister Arju Rana Urges to Increase Aid for Least Developed Countries

Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has requested the G-20 countries to increase the amount of aid for least developed countries (LDCs).

In the meeting held on Wednesday of the foreign ministers of the G-20 who were in New York to participate in the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, as the president of the LDC, he asked to support the underdeveloped countries.

Presenting examples of the least developed countries of the world suffering from various problems, Minister Deuba said that those countries are suffering due to the covid-19 epidemic, the effects of climate change, and geopolitical tensions, according to his private secretariat.

The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to Brazil, the president of the G-20, for organizing the meeting focusing on social inclusion, poverty alleviation and sustainable development. He welcomed the fact that Brazil is about to start a global campaign to reduce hunger and poverty.
