Free Treatment in Gangalal Hospital for Underprivileged Children Under 15 Years After Minister Paudel Direction

Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center, Basbari, has decided to provide free heart treatment to children from poor families under the age of 15.

The hospital’s board of directors meeting held today decided to provide free heart treatment to children under the age of 15 from poor families.

Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel, who is also the chairman of the hospital’s operating committee, had directed not to stop the treatment of children with weak financial conditions.

Ravi Malla, executive director of the hospital, said that as per the minister’s directive, it has been decided to provide services, including surgeries, to children facing financial hardship by increasing internal resources.

The board of directors meeting has decided to enter into an agreement with local levels to seek additional resources for pediatric heart treatment.

The Ministry of Health and Population has been providing assistance of Rs. 250,000 per child to the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center annually for the treatment of heart disease, including surgery, for up to 500 children.

But more than 500 children come to the hospital for treatment every year. According to the hospital, 480 children have received free treatment services, including surgery, from Gangalal till the month of Pushpa this year.
