Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has said that the government will not be able to give old age allowance after ten years. He said this on the 27th Ganeshman Singh Memorial Day organized by Ganeshman Singh Memorial Hospital and Research Center in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

He said that more emphasis should be placed on preventing people from getting sick. He commented that it seems like Minister Paudel is waiting for someone to get sick and talk about the facility

‘It seems like we are waiting for someone to get sick and talk about its facilities,’ he said, ‘there is something going on in the treatment system, there is a little more interest. But has there been any work in the preventive method until today? In the same way, within 20 years, the number of people above 50 years is more in Nepal. It cannot be active, it cannot be healthy. Now how many friends tell me not to say such things, after 10 years the state will not be able to give old age allowance. So we need to do something to prevent people from getting sick.

He said that something is going on in the therapeutic method and interest has also increased. He alleged that no one showed interest in preventive methods.

He claims that the number of people over 50 will increase in Nepal within the next 20 years if the current situation continues. He said that although food is the main topic of health, it could not be linked with health.

Minister Paudel emphasized that hospitals need to expand health awareness. He said that there is no research on anything in the country and that there is no research in the institutes.
