Government Has Given Public Holiday on Ocassion of Maghe Sankranti Today

Today is the 1st of Magh i.e. Maghe Sankranti. The government has declared a public holiday today on the occasion of Maghi Parva, the great festival of the Tharu community and Maghe Sankranti (Makar Sankranti), a festival celebrated by other communities including the Magar community. Tharu community celebrates it as Maghi and as new year.
