Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has said that the government is firm and clear that Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek belong to Nepal. Answering a question raised by MPs in the House of Representatives meeting held on Tuesday, he said, ‘The Government of Nepal is firm and clear that according to the Nepal-India Sugauli Treaty of 1816, all the land east of the Mahakali, including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek, belongs to Nepal.’ He said that during his visit to India, he discussed the issue of resolving the Nepal-India border problem with his Indian counterpart and received a positive response.

“The Honorable House, Honorable Members, Government of Nepal and all of us are clear and firm about Nepal’s international border. Our unprecedented national consensus has been established on this matter,’ said Prime Minister Prachanda. He said that an example of this is that Nepal’s Nissan seal is being updated with a new map through the amendment of the Constitution on 4th June 2077.
