Hari Upreti receives “Lyricist honor”

Kathmandu – Senior lyricist Hari Upreti was honored with the Senior Lyricist Award at the 5th Annual General Meeting and Special Honors Ceremony of the Event Management Association held this year.
The ceremony, held under the special hospitality of National Assembly Chairman Narayan Prasad Dahal, Finance Committee Chairman and House of Representatives Member Santosh Chalise, Commerce and Supplies Chairman and House of Representatives Member Abdul Khan, and Maiti Nepal Founder Anuradha Koirala, honored prominent personalities from Nepal and India.

As lyricist Upreti, who is currently in the US, was unable to attend the ceremony, the award was handed over to model and musician Bijay Gurung. The special honor was presented to him on behalf of lyricist Upreti by the chief guest Dahal, special guests Chalise and Khan.

The organizing organization, Event Management Association, has stated that lyricist Upreti was honored for his contribution to the development and promotion of songs and music while living in exile for a long time.

The award was presented to Upreti, a lyricist who has been active in the Nepali music industry for a long time. Lyricist Upreti has carved a special place among the audience with popular songs like Luki Chhupi, Lag Aachkal, Pir Haru, Dukhchha Mutu. She is also a writer and has published many books of ghazals and poems. Some of her books are in preparation for publication. Upreti is also the president of the International Nepali Lyricists Association.

“As I continue to move forward with the belief that the journey of the Nepali music industry is the result of continuous resourcefulness, dedication and creativity, this award has made me more responsible and inspired.” He also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Event Management Association Nepal and the entire organizing team for presenting the award, appreciating his musical contribution.

He also dedicated this award to all music lovers, listeners and colleagues.

A significant number of event directors from across the country and event organizers from India participated in the event organized at the grand hall of the National Theatre.

The program was chaired by Laba Bahadur and coordinated by Raj Luitel.
