Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has requested the World Health Organization to gather resources to deal with the common health crisis .
Addressing the meeting of health ministers of the South Asia region organized by the World Health Organization in New Delhi, India, he said that South Asia is a region with high health risk even in terms of demographics and discussed that the lack of resources to deal with health problems that may increase in this region is a major problem.
He said, ‘South Asia is also in a risk zone in terms of demographics . Due to the lack of resources, there is a problem in fighting common health problems.’
Minister Paudel said that the problem of Nepal is also connected with the common problem of South Asia and promised to increase its resources. He said, ‘We are trying to increase our resources to fight the health crisis of our country.’
He said that all the member countries should increase their internal resources in a meeting that included the health ministers of Southeast Asian countries, which are members of the organization , and high-ranking officials of the organization .
Minister Poudel had a meeting with Saima Wajed, Southeast Asia director of the organization . In that regard, Minister Paudel said that while reforming Nepal’s health insurance, efforts are being made to strengthen citizens’ right to basic health treatment, he expects policy support and support from the organization .
