Health Minister Pradeep Poudel initiated the process to bring the Health Services Act
Health and Population Minister Pradeep Poudel has initiated the process to bring the Health Services Act
Health and Population Minister Pradeep Paudel has started the process to bring the Health Service Act to address the problems of the health service employees.
The process of introducing a new law, which has not progressed so far, started after the leadership of Minister Paudel.
Minister Paudel took a proposal to the cabinet meeting with the aim of moving forward with the process to bring the law, saying that since the Nepal Health Service Act 2053 is still in existence, it has not been able to manage the employees according to federalism.
The Council of Ministers meeting held on Thursday has given in-principle approval to move forward with the Health Services Act in line with federalism.
Health and Population Minister Paudel said, “Despite federalism, there are problems in the moral development of health workers, so the process of drafting the law has been moved forward.
Now the ministry will prepare the draft law and take it to the Council of Ministers for approval before taking it to the Parliament. After that, the new law will be tabled in the parliament.
The ministry will propose a new law to establish relationships between the three levels of employees and make necessary arrangements for the posts in the health service.
58 thousand more health workers will benefit
If the Act is implemented, in addition to the 28,000 in the federal health service, a total of 58,000 more health workers who are undergoing adjustment at various levels will benefit.
It is believed that the Act will solve that issue as there is confusion regarding the position and career development in the health service.
Currently, there is a problem in the professional development and promotion of the adjusted employees due to the lack of a new law in line with federalism. At present, there is a complication in maintaining the relationship between the three levels of staff.
