Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has said that old practices need to be changed to make health services effective.
Health Minister Paudel made this statement at a program organized at the ministry on Thursday on the occasion of Health Services Day.
Health Minister Paudel admitted that although the situation of easy access to health services has been created, it has not been able to be made effective. He said that the health service delivery should be developed and changed based on work experience. He insisted that the health service is not in a state where it is not possible to provide it at all.
Health Minister Paudel said that only people with special abilities can provide health services. He stressed that health workers cannot work under pressure and stressed the need to create an environment where they can work without pressure. He said that the government should provide a sense of security to health workers.
Health Minister Paudel said that limited infrastructure, manpower, and equipment have forced the government to expand health services. He said that preparations are underway to bring an Integrated Health Services Act to make health services more effective.
