The Patan High Court has issued an interim order not to implement the suspension of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Police Chief Rajunath Pandey.

“An interim order has been issued in the name of the respondents pursuant to Rule 42 (1) of the High Court Rules, without implementing the suspension letter dated 20 Jestha 2082 and allowing the petitioner to continue to function in his post,” the order states.

Pandey had filed a writ petition in the Patan High Court seeking an interim order.

Bench No. 9, comprising Justices Rishi Rajbhandari and Dilli Ratna Shrestha, issued the order in a writ petition filed in the High Court against the decision of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain to suspend him from his post.

Pandey had filed a writ petition naming Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain, Acting Chief of the Metropolitan Police Force Bishnu Joshi, and the Municipal Executive Office as defendants.
