Kageshwari Library Completes its 33rd General Assembly, 15-Member Committee Reformed

Kageshwari Library in Phuyal Gaun, Alapot, Kathmandu, completes its 33rd General Assembly. The program was completed under the chief hospitality of senior writer Vijay Chalise.

It is said that the library has played a significant role in social change since it was established in the year of Bikram Samvat 2036 till today. It is believed that the library, which is active in bringing social awareness and producing intellectuals, will maintain its level.

Former Minister and Constituent Assembly member Rameshwar Phuyal, along with writer Chalise, and other famous people were present in the program.

Speaking at the event, chief guest Vijay Chalise said that the library played an important role in strengthening the anti-panchayat movement.

Claiming that the library will play a role in making thousands of people aware that the intellectual movement will seek change faster than the street movement, he said that the Kageshwari library also taught them to resist the extreme oppression of the Panchayat.

Similarly, he maintained that since it is difficult to run a library financially and physically, an organization that can fight with many challenges is necessary for that.

He said that there should be interesting books to attract the latest generation whose interest in studies is decreasing and it can also be modified as an e-library. For this, writer Chalise expressed his commitment to help as much as he can.

Speaking at a similar event, Constituent Assembly member and former minister and UML leader Rameshwar Phuyal said that Kageshwari Library stood at the foundation of the anti-panchayat movement.

Recalling that Kageshwari Pustakalaya is a well-known institution in Kathmandu district as a stronghold of filling democratic consciousness among leaders and people against the Panchayat system, he mentioned that the institution has played a major role in educating the literate class as well as expanding the intellectual range. At the same time, he also recalled learning many things from the same library and reaching the place where the constitution was made.

In this way, awareness will be developed from the library and for that, it is necessary to have positive thinking in the person, he said. He said that the Kageshwari library can be brought to the top position among the libraries across Nepal, but for that, everyone’s cooperation is indispensable.

Similarly, the 33rd general meeting of the library has also reconstituted a 15-member board of directors under the chairmanship of Kumar Bahadur Khadka. In which Bimal Prasad Dhimal Vice President, Ramchandra Phuyal Secretary, Diksha Pudasaini Deputy Secretary, Devraj Phuyal Treasurer as well as members Bishnu Prasad Phuyal, Rameshwar Dhimal, Rabindra Bhandari, Dasarath Thapa, Kalpana Karki, Shusila Thapa (Raut), Nirmal Khadka, Shusila Phuyal, Ramkrishna Khadka, Deepak Fuyal is.
