The Kathmandu District Court has ordered the release on bail of Rastriya Swatantra Party President Ravi Lamichhane, who is in custody in connection with the fraud case of the Kalimati-based Swarnalakshmi Savings and Cooperative Society.
A single bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari ordered Ravi to be released on a bail of Rs 6 million.
Lamichhane, who was arrested on Kartik 20 in the Pokhara-based Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case, was released from Kaski on Thursday evening after posting a bail of Rs 6.5 million after 84 days.
He then appeared in court on Sunday in a case involving the misappropriation of funds at the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative Society, in which Lamichhane was named as a defendant. The court then remanded him in custody.
