Thamel and Durbarmarg, the main tourist destinations of the capital, will be open 24 hours from today. Following the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane, the District Administration Office Kathmandu has created a code of conduct and is going to operate this area 24 hours a day from the 1st of Baisakh today.
Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Jitendra Basnet said that reliable security arrangements have been made to secure Thamel and Darbarmarg areas. He said that starting from today, Thamel and Darbarmarg areas have been prepared to conduct night business as a full-time business, so the security system has been strengthened accordingly.
