Addressing the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Nepal is ready to further increase its contribution to world peace and security as the largest contributor of the army and police to the United Nations peacekeeping operations.

He called upon the world community to unite for peace, sustainable development and advancement of human dignity for the present and future generations without leaving anyone behind.

Explaining the ups and downs of Nepal’s efforts to establish peace after the armed conflict, Prime Minister Oli informed the General Assembly that the transitional justice law passed by the government under his leadership was recently passed by the Parliament.

Prime Minister Oli said that Nepal will be upgraded from an underdeveloped country by 2026, but there is an economic gap of 24 billion US dollars to achieve the sustainable development goal by 2030. He has put forward the demand that Nepal should be affected by the carbon emissions of the developed countries of the world and that Nepal should get the benefits of climate justice.
