According to the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee, the Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee said that the main gate of the Melamchi Water Supply Project at Ambathan in Sindhupalchok will be closed from today.
The committee said that even though the project is to be closed from today, as the water of the Melamchi river is not mixed, the water will be sent to the valley with caution. With the onset of monsoon in Bagmati province, the government had prepared to close the project to protect the project from monsoon-related disasters. Ratna Lamichhane, Executive Director of Melamchi Water Supply Development Committee, said that the project was to be closed on May 31st, but it was decided not to stop the water supply until there is heavy rain.
