Formation of a working group by the Ministry for necessary data and suggestions of health materials
Kathmandu: Minister of Health and Population Pradeep Paudel has taken the initiative to form an expert committee for the necessary data and suggestions to reduce the shortage of health materials and the fact that they are not being utilized even after purchase.
The Ministry of Health and Population has formed a five-member task force to collect the details of health materials received through procurement and subsidies.
Thapa is the coordinator of the working group to suggest to the ministry Prof. Dr. Narayan Vikram Thapa. Likewise, Dr. among the members. Shravan Kumar Thapa, Accounts Officer of the Ministry of Health Shalikgram Chaudhary, Law Officer of the Ministry Sena Bahadur Shrestha, and Vishnu Bahadur Chhetri.
A period of three years, reporting on the status of existing health materials
The working group has been asked to conduct a detailed study on the distribution process of health equipment and materials purchased by the Ministry and the Department of Health Services in the last three years, the current stock situation and the upcoming distribution plan.
Likewise, during the past three years, the details of the materials received from various donor agencies, the distribution of those materials and the current balance will also be collected.
The ministry expects that the task force will collect detailed information and provide information about the actual condition of the existing health materials and play an important role in ensuring more transparency and accountability in the health service system.
“The working group will make recommendations to the ministry based on the results of its research, which will help make the procurement, distribution, and management process of health materials more efficient, transparent, and accountable,” said Prakash Budhathoki, the spokesperson of the ministry.
He expressed his belief that the formed working group will help to make the procurement process of the health sector more orderly
